MPO Planner
General Summary & Essential Responsibilities
Performs professional and technical work developing, researching, and maintaining public planning studies and programs. Work involves technical and creative responsibility conducting research and plan review and preparing detailed studies on land use, zoning, conservation, housing, transportation, population, coastal management, historic preservation, urban design, and other areas of comprehensive planning activities. Ensures program compliance with criteria governing local, state, and federal legislature relating to growth management.

Currently we have two vacancies on the BPAC:
Two South County Representatives- These individuals must be residents of Charlotte County to serve on the BPAC and reside in South County.
The BPAC reviews and makes recommendations on transportation plans and projects that the MPO Board will consider.
Currently we have two vacancies on the CAC:
Two South County Representatives – These individuals must be residents of Charlotte County to serve on the CAC and reside in South County.
The CAC provides public input on proposed MPO transportation plans and programs.

Currently we have two vacancies on LCB:
One person with a disability representing the disabled in Charlotte County.
One person representing a local private for-profit transportation industry.
The purpose of the LCB is to identify local service needs and to provide information,
advice, and direction to the Community Transportation Coordination of
service to be provided to the transportation disadvantaged.
