Veterans Boulevard Corridor Planning Study
Veterans Boulevard (County Road 776) is a primarily east-west corridor in Charlotte County, beginning at the intersection with SR 776/US 41 at the west end and ending at Kings Highway to the east. This Corridor Study will address congestion, mobility, and safety issues along Veterans Boulevard throughout its length in Charlotte County and will develop recommendations for improvement strategies to benefit the users of the corridor.
This report discusses the 1) existing conditions including corridor characteristics, travel patterns, operational analysis of all modes, access management review, and safety assessment and 2) future conditions including traffic forecasts, operational analysis of all modes and safety analysis, to develop potential safety, operational, and multimodal improvements for the Veterans Boulevard corridor. The identified improvements are prioritized for short-term (2025), mid-term (2035), and long-term (2045) conditions through close coordination with the project stakeholders including the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Charlotte County-Punta Gorda Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Charlotte County, and other interested parties.
