
This award is bestowed in honor of Peggy Walters who improved our way of life here in Charlotte County through her contributions in transportation planning.

NOMINATIONS AND GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Any resident or a group from Charlotte County, Florida that strives to improve mobility in the County is eligible for this award.
- Any individual or group may nominate a Charlotte County resident or non-governmental organization for this award.
- Professional planners and consultants, agency employees and media professionals are not eligible for this award.
- An individual or group may not nominate himself/herself or their respective group
- An individual or group may nominate more than one resident or group for this award.
- An individual may be nominated posthumously.
- Nominations will be accepted in the written form of a letter, memo or e-mail and sent to the MPO offices.
- Nominations must include the name, address, and phone number of the nominator.
- The nominator or group should provide a brief summary of how the nominee has made significant or successful contributions to the local transportation planning process. This summary should include the history of service the nominee has contributed including any specific improvement or projects.
- The nominee summary may be for a specific achievement or in recognition of a series of accomplishments over a specific time frame.
- Nominations for an award for that calendar year must be received at the MPO offices by June 30, 2024 to be eligible for that year’s award.
- The Award’s Selection Committee will be composed of a Technical Advisory Committee representative, an MPO staff member and a Citizen Advisory Committee representative. A nominee or nominator for the award cannot serve on the Selection Committee.
- This Committee will be responsible for reviewing all nominations received and recommending an award recipient to the MPO Board at its Regular Meeting scheduled in October of a calendar year.
